These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Shield (“Shield”, “we”, “us”), a self-defending code obfuscation service operated at shieldmycode.com and related subdomains. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. Acceptance of terms
By signing up, you confirm you are at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and that you have authority to bind the entity you represent, if any. The signup notice you acknowledge during registration is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
2. The service
Shield accepts JavaScript and HTML source code, applies a series of transformations (AST rewrites, runtime defenses, access locks, anti-LLM passes), and returns a protected output. See our legal disclaimer for what the protections can and cannot do.
3. Accounts & single-session policy
You are responsible for the credentials on your account and for all activity that occurs under it. To deter sharing, Shield enforces a strict single-session policy: a successful login on any device immediately invalidates all other active sessions for that account. Sessions also expire after ten (10) minutes of inactivity.
Sharing an account with users outside your organization is a material breach of these Terms.
4. Plans, quotas, and billing
Free, Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans are described on the pricing page. Each plan has a monthly obfuscation quota and a maximum file size. The quota resets at the start of each calendar month.
Paid plans are billed monthly or annually via Stripe. By upgrading you authorize recurring charges at the price displayed at checkout until you cancel. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; we do not pro-rate refunds for partial months unless required by law.
Enterprise plans are negotiated directly and may be governed by a separate Master Services Agreement that supersedes these Terms where applicable.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the service to:
- Obfuscate malware, spyware, credential stealers, ransomware, miners deployed without consent, or phishing kits.
- Hide code that violates third-party rights, including copyright, trademark, or trade-secret rights.
- Circumvent technical protection measures on platforms or devices where you lack authorization.
- Disrupt, overload, or probe the service or its infrastructure outside of any vulnerability-disclosure program we publish.
- Resell or sublicense the service without written permission.
6. Your content
You retain all rights to the source code you submit (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process Your Content solely for the purpose of producing the obfuscated output and operating the service (including logging, quota accounting, and abuse detection).
We do not claim ownership of the obfuscated output. We do not sell your code or use it to train third-party models.
7. Intellectual property
Shield, the Shield logo, the engine, the user interface, the documentation, and the obfuscation transforms are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms grant you no rights in our marks. You may not reverse-engineer the service itself except to the limited extent permitted by mandatory law.
8. API keys & rate limits
Business, Enterprise, and Unlimited plans may create personal API keys. Keys are sensitive credentials; treat them as you would a password. Calls authenticated by your key count against your monthly quota and are subject to the same plan limits as the dashboard.
We may impose additional rate limits to maintain service health. Sustained abuse (for example, scripted attempts to bypass quotas across multiple accounts) is grounds for suspension.
9. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, that are reported by law enforcement for cause, or that pose a risk to other users. You may delete your account at any time from the dashboard; deletion removes your sessions, API keys, telemetry history, and personal information subject to the retention requirements in our privacy policy.
10. Changes to these terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via email or in-app notice at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which our operating entity is registered, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your country grants you a non-waivable right to sue locally.
